ECOWITT WH51 Wireless Soil Moisture Sensor

Take the guesswork out of watering. The ECOWITT WH51 is a small wireless probe you push into the soil of a garden bed, lawn, vege patch or pot plant, and it reports moisture levels to your Ecowitt weather station console or gateway about every 70 seconds. Check your phone before you turn the hose on, and you'll know which areas actually need water and which can wait.
The WH51 has no screen or Wi-Fi of its own, so it needs an Ecowitt console or gateway to receive its readings. If you own the ECOWITT WS3900 Weather Station, simply add the WH51 as an extra sensor – no extra hub needed. Live readings then appear in the Ecowitt app, with history and graphs on ecowitt.net, and you can add up to 16 sensors to keep an eye on different parts of the garden.
Features
- Wireless soil moisture readings from 0 to 100%, updated about every 70 seconds
- Add-on for the ECOWITT WS3900 Weather Station – pairs as an extra sensor, no separate hub needed
- Live data in the Ecowitt app with history and graphs on ecowitt.net
- Monitor up to 16 locations – each sensor appears as its own channel
- Custom calibration – set the 0% and 100% points to suit your soil type for more accurate readings
- IP66 weatherproof for indoor pots, outdoor garden beds and lawns
- Runs on a single AA battery (not included)
- Also works with other Ecowitt gateways and consoles, including GW1100, GW1200, GW2000, GW3000, WS3800 and WS3910
Tip: loosen the soil or make a pilot hole before inserting the probe. Pushing it into hard, rocky or compacted ground can damage the sensor, and this isn't covered by warranty.
