All-in-One 16.6x Zoom Lens Covering Wide-Angle to Ultra-Telephoto with Fast AF and VC Stabilization, Plus 1:2 Wide-Macro

Landscape, Snapshots, Portraits, Animals, Birds: An All-in-One Zoom Lens for All Kinds of Photography

The main feature of this lens is its broad 16.6x zoom ratio, the world's first(1) for an APS-C size mirrorless interchangeable lens when it was released in 2021. It covers a focal length of 18-300mm(2), allowing you to take a wide range of photos from wide-angle to super-telephoto. In particular, this all-in-one zoom with its 300mm super-telephoto reach is useful in a wide range of situations, from vast landscapes and everyday snapshots to portraits, as well as animals, birds, sports and kids’ events. In addition, the weight is approximately 620g (3), and the filter diameter is φ67mm— the same as many in our mirrorless lens series. The compact design is ideal for use on trips and hikes.

1. Among interchangeable zoom lenses for APS-C mirrorless cameras (As of July, 2021: TAMRON)
2. The full-frame equivalent of 27-450mm for Sony E, FUJIFILM X, and Nikon Z mounts/ 28.8-480mm for CANON RF mount
3. Weight is based on the Sony E-mount lens.

Best-in-Class Autofocus VXD That’s Fast and Precise, Great for Bird and Animal Photography

The 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC lens is a versatile zoom with speed, precision and responsiveness that ranks at the top of the all-in-one zoom lens category, due in part to TAMRON’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism. Even at the ultra-telephoto focal length of 300mm, this lens provides comfortable focusing from the minimum distance to infinity. Its focus tracking expertly captures decisive moments when photographing birds, animals, vehicles or other moving subjects. Since the lens group for focusing can be driven directly without the use of gears, the linear motor suppresses drive noise, making it ideal for still photo and video shooting in quiet environments.

Maximum Magnification Ratio Is 1:2, Absolutely Amazing for an All-in-One Zoom Lens

At the 18mm wide end, the lens attains an MOD of 0.15m and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2. With an amazing working distance of 5mm (4), you can get as close as you want to your subject while capturing the background. This opens the doors for a style of expression that is exclusive to wide macro photography.

4. When shooting with an MOD of 0.15m at the wide end, the distance between the subject and the front tip of the lens is approximately 5mm. Use precaution so that the front element does not touch the subject when shooting at MOD.

Uncompromising Optical Performance Throughout the Entire Zoom Range

The 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC provides superbly high resolution created through TAMRON's persistent pursuit of outstanding image quality. The optical construction includes several special lens elements, specifically four LD (Low Dispersion) and three hybrid aspherical lens elements. These elements help to produce clear, sharp images from the center to the corners. Chromatic aberration and other optical aberrations are well corrected. In addition, the BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating suppresses ghosting and flare, which commonly occur in backlit scenes. Throughout the entire zoom range, the 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC provides both high image quality and soft creamy bokeh.

TAMRON's Proprietary VC Supports Telephoto and Low-Light Shooting

This lens is equipped with TAMRON's proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism to minimize the effect of camera-shake, which is likely to occur in the telephoto range. It displays its ability to perform when shooting handheld under low-light conditions such as indoor or when shooting at night. It effectively reduces the degradation of image quality. Using AI technologies, the lens will choose the compensation characteristic for videography at focal lengths of 70mm or less.

AF/MF Switch and VC ON/OFF Switch for Canon RF mount

The 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC for Canon RF mount is equipped with an AF/MF switch and a VC ON/OFF switch. You can adjust the AF/MF switch for close-up photography of flowers or table photos. Also, you can switch VC ON/OFF for handheld or tripod shooting. It allows flexible settings according to the shooting situation and achieves even greater convenience and comfortable operability.

TAMRON Lens Utility™ Software for Nikon Z and CANON RF mounts

With the Nikon Z and the CANON RF mount versions, you can use the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility software that was developed in-house by TAMRON5. This application lets you easily update the lens to the latest firmware themselves without going through the camera6. On the firmware information screen, you can check the version of your lens and update it if a newer firmware version is available.

5. To connect your PC and lens, use the TAMRON Connection Cable (USB Type-A to Type-C/ Model CC-150, or USB Type-C to Type-C/ Model CC-350) sold separately.
6. As the 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC is not equipped with a Focus Set Button, certain functions cannot be customized. Download TAMRON Lens Utility
